OCA National Convention
OCA’s full dimensional convention with tracks and activities for the different stages of life from high school through retirement is an opportunity for personal growth and learning about the latest issues impacting our community. The OCA National Convention is a premier APA community event with a jam-packed four days of workshops, seminars and special events.
There are tracks for High School Youth Leadership Development, College Leadership Development, Chapter Advancement, Professional Development, Small Business, and Community Advocacy. Friday’s Awards luncheon is for OCA Scholarship Recipients & Interns and Saturday’s luncheon is the annual Chapter Awards Recognition. Saturday evening is the Annual National Awards Gala.
The awards gala dinner, the highlight of the convention has included keynote speakers such as The Honorable Gary Locke, The Honorable Norman Mineta, former Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, former Vice President Al Gore, former Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Bill Lann Lee, U.S. Representative Judy Chu, Fashion Designer Anna Sui, YouTube Founder Steve Chen, actor James Hong, artist Tyrus Wong, and many other Cabinet Secretaries, movie stars, politicians and civil rights leaders.
