Anne Sung's story is compelling. A graduate of Askew Elementary, T.H. Rogers Middle School, and Bellaire High School, she has a B.A. magna cum laude, M.A. (both in Physics) and Master of Public Policy from Harvard University. She was Teacher of the Year at Lee High School, is co-founder of the New Leader's Council and Community Voices for Public Education and now is chief strategy officer and VP at Project GRAD. She is the only candidate with classroom teaching experience and educational policy expertise. But what is most compelling about Anne is what we have all experienced -- her evident, radiant integrity.

She will be a tireless advocate for policies and programs that build strong schools in every neighborhood. Anne Sung will be a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars, so that we can put money back into classrooms where it benefits children directly. She will support a challenging curriculum and limiting class size, giving students 21st-century skills necessary for college and career. She supports strategic partnerships, bringing together parents, teachers, businesses and community partners, so we can give our children the academic and social supports they need to succeed in life.
